October 28: 6 pm World’s Best Workforce, 7 pm Regular Meeting
October is National School Principal Recognition Month, and we want to thank our principals for their leadership in our district! We see their work in action in so many ways, supporting students, serving as instructional leaders, and managing our schools every day. We are grateful for their dedication to our students, staff, and families and the important role they play in the success of our school community.
The Superintendent’s Student Cabinet is a new leadership opportunity this school year at Mahtomedi High School(MHS). Forming the Cabinet is one way the District is taking action on elements of our Strategic Plan that call on us to build trust and partnership with students. The group will serve as a student advisory board and will regularly connect with their MHS peers on designated topics and report back with feedback on strengths and areas for growth. Students applied for the Cabinet and will serve for one year. Each student is connected to different communities within MHS but will work collaboratively for positive outcomes at Mahtomedi Public Schools. The Student Cabinet recently held its first meeting. At the meeting, Superintendent Duffrin gave the students an overview of adult leaders throughout the district and a description of their job duties. Congratulations to this year’s Student Cabinet members: Layla Befidi, Aidan Carlson, Abraham Jansen, Jaylen Jones, Ella Kraai, Steve Kuschke, Ali Lum, Maxwell Newcome, Eden Puchreiter, Matthew Studenski, and Joud Wadi.
