We value the time and dedication of our volunteers and to ensure the safety of the buildings and students, we require criminal background checks for all individuals who wish to volunteer.

This year, Mahtomedi Public Schools will be starting a new practice with our background check system. Background checks for volunteers will need to be conducted in elementary and then again during secondary enrollment.

Please know that your background check done during your child’s elementary school time will no longer transfer to their secondary school enrollment time, you will need to complete the background check process again.

• All volunteers who will be working directly with children are required to pass a criminal background check. 

• Volunteers working in classrooms, at events, or directly with students must have a background check on file. To register online, go to this link. The cost is $10.00.  

• Please note that presenters do not require a background check but will check in at the school front office with their ID and be supervised by a Mahtomedi Public Schools staff member when presenting.
