We encourage staff and students to wear Zephyr wear or blue/gold on Friday, October 4th.
There are lots of fun ways to connect with our community during homecoming. Please see details below.
At Wildwood Elementary, we cherish and embody the spirit of community every day. Our mornings kick off with a Morning Meeting where students warmly greet each other and share exciting moments from their lives. This bonding activity, combined with engaging academic pursuits, forms the cornerstone of our learners' experiences throughout the day.
At Wildwood, the community will always be a vital and exciting part of student's education. We regularly welcome different community members who generously share their talents and time with our students. High school helpers join us daily to support our students in literacy activities. Their presence has significantly and joyfully impacted our students' phonics learning. Our young learners look up to these high school students with admiration and enthusiasm as inspiring role models.
In partnership,
Principal Scott Briske

This week at Wildwood, we are working on being kind. Here is the message we read to the students at the beginning of the day:
"One expectation we have at Wildwood is 'Be Kind.' Being kind helps everyone feel welcome and safe. When we are kind, we listen carefully to each other, help each other, and try to understand how someone else feels. When we speak kindly, we use friendly words and say please and thank you. What are some ways that you can act and speak in kind ways in the classroom, hallway, lunchroom, and out at recess?"
Next week, being helpful is the focus.

Wildwood Fun Run activities!
Thank you to our Fun Run volunteers!
In physical education class, we are using a running program called Marathon Kids. Students are able to track their running progress through the program. This year we are keeping track of how many miles we can run as a class, grade and whole school. This week first and second graders practiced running outside and using QR codes so that they can count laps that they run during their recess time. The students have been excited about how many miles they have run so far and are interested in relating the distances to real places like Florida. As a school we have ran 896 miles!
