Dessert & Dialogue: AI Conversation |
On April 14, we hosted a Dessert & Dialogue, where we engaged our community around Mahtomedi’s Portrait of a Graduate, a key component of our strategic plan. One Portrait component is Ethical. A key competency within this area is “Utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) and technology responsibly while staying current on trends for success”. We invited community professionals whose work involves AI to join the Dessert & Dialogue to help inform our thinking; more than 30 participated in the conversation. This week, Superintendent Duffrin was featured in the White Bear Press, sharing the themes from the conversation. Click here to read the article.

Our seven-year graduation rate also remains high at over 98% and is a reflection of the impact of our Passages Transition Program.
⭐️Speech-Language Pathologist Ms. Colette Lang saw a need, and now the Communication Board at Wildwood Elementary School is helping students build relationships and make connections. Watch this video to learn more.
⭐️ Alum Parker Fox (MHS Class of 2017) recently returned to Mahtomedi to speak to students about careers in sports media. Read more here.
⭐️Congratulations to Ms. Chelsea Paquette, school social worker at Mahtomedi Middle School, who was recently recognized by the Mahtomedi School Board for outstanding leadership at Mahtomedi Public Schools. Click here to learn more about the award.
⭐️Did you know that over 100 professionals, representing 59 organizations/businesses from around our community, recently came together to share their career knowledge with Mahtomedi High School students? Click here to learn about the impact from two of our staff members.
⭐️Mahtomedi Middle School students are exploring their writing skills through creative writing. What are students learning through the process?. In this video, hear from Ms. Lily Korich, sixth-grade language arts teacher at Mahtomedi Middle School.
⭐️Congratulations to Mahtomedi High School Engineering and Science teacher Mr. Bryan Farmer on being named the Rawlings Chapter Teacher of the Year, Chapter Aerospace/STEM Teacher of the Year, and Air and Space Forces Association Minnesota State Aerospace/STEM Teacher of the Year.
