Mahtomedi Public Schools will hold a two-question referendum on November 4 - one for operating revenue and one for facility improvements. Question 1 is an operating levy that would provide $575 per student to maintain class sizes, preserve academic programs, and support long-term financial stability. Question 2 is a $28 million bond for district-wide safety, security, and infrastructure improvements, modern learning spaces, ADA-compliant fine arts updates, and athletic upgrades. This video with Mahtomedi School Board Director Paul Donna explains the financial pressures our school district is facing and why Mahtomedi Public Schools is holding a referendum on November 4, 2025. To learn more, visit our referendum web page at www.mahtomedi.k12.mn.us/elections
In this video, hear from Adam Gemuenden, Facilities & Maintenance Manager at Mahtomedi Public Schools, and learn more about the projects included in the referendum. If approved, the facilities bond would improve safety, security, and learning spaces across the district, including secure entrances, critical HVAC upgrades, and updates to reduce hallway crowding and modernize learning spaces. The passage of Question 2 is contingent upon the passage of Question 1.
Early Voting and Absentee Voting are terms that are used interchangeably. All eligible Minnesota voters can vote early, either in person or by mail, without needing to provide a reason. Early voting is a great option for busy families! Click here for times and locations.
Mahtomedi Public Schools and Mahtomedi Community Education are offering free childcare on October 3 from 3-5pm so families can early vote. Click here to sign up for free childcare for early voting.
September is Minnesota School Board Recognition Month, and we want to acknowledge the vital role our School Board plays in our school community. We are grateful for their commitment and support of our students, staff, and community. We asked our School Board members to reflect on the community partnerships and moments that inspire them most. Click here to read the comments they shared. Thank you to Stacey Stout (Chair), Kelly Reagan (Vice Chair/Clerk), Ryan Domin (Treasurer), Paul Donna (Director), Jenny Peterson (Director), and Drew Whitson (Director).
If emergencies arise in any of our school buildings, all of our schools use a standardized set of protocols to ensure our staff and students know what type of emergency is occurring and how to respond. The use of these protocols is in partnership with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and is intended to make emergency information clear for staff, students, and families. Please click here to review the information shared with families.
