Construction During School

We were recently informed that the Washington County Highway 12 (75th Street) Improvement Project near our school campus will not be complete by the start of the school year.

We know that the road construction significantly impacts commuting time, and we share your disappointment that the detours and traffic will continue. We anticipate the detours will continue through September. We have worked with our school transportation department, Washington County Sheriff's Office, and St. Andrew's Lutheran Church to ensure we can do our very best with transportation under these circumstances.

Please allow extra time to commute to our schools during this time.

Detour Route

County Highway 12 is closed to eastbound traffic between East/Hallam Ave and the High/Middle School entrance. During this time, northbound County Highway 29 (Hilton Trail) traffic will not be able to travel eastbound on County Highway 12 as it will be westbound only between the High/Middle School entrance and East/Hallam Ave.  Click here for the Washington County project website.

Secondary Information: Mahtomedi Middle School & Mahtomedi High School

The Washington County Sheriff's Office and St. Andrew's Lutheran Church are partnering with us to help get our secondary students to and from school on time, help you avoid the traffic, and reduce commuting times.

Traffic Direction: Staff from Mahtomedi Public Schools and the Washington County Sheriff's Office will help provide traffic direction to drivers around our campus.

Drop Off/Pick Up: WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE MMS & MHS families who drop off/pick up their children at school to instead drop off and pick up at the lower lot at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church at 110 East Avenue Mahtomedi, MN 55115 (next to the Youth & Sports Center). Students can use the sidewalk or walk through St Andrew’s to get to and from the upper lot (which is walk or bike only) that leads to MMS and MHS. Click here to see the map and visual directions.

Bus Routes using Stadium Lot: Some of our morning northern school bus routes will drop off students at the lot near the stadium to help with traffic. Bus Drivers will inform students of this practice. These students will also use the sidewalks to get to MMS and MHS.

Wildwood Information

Preschool and K-2 families and staff should use the detour routes outlined by Washington County and access the school from the south via Highway 36 and Lake Elmo Avenue North. When leaving the school, drivers will be able to drive westbound on Highway 12.

O.H. Anderson (OHA) Information

OHA families and staff will be able to access OHA via Hilton Trail North or Warner Avenue.
