On October 10th, MMS students will take the mySAEBRS survey. mySAEBRS is a screener that is utilized, along with additional information, to identify supports a student may need to be successful at school. MMS began using mySAEBRS as a student self-assessment in the fall of 2022, and mySAEBRS has been used at O.H. Anderson Elementary for years. The mySAEBRS asks questions about how students feel about school and connections to adults and peers at school. Below are some examples of the questions.
The survey will take about 5 minutes for students to complete. To learn more, please visit the mySAEBRS website here.
Model United Nations (Model UN) is a hands-on civic learning program where students in grades 7-12 take on the role of a diplomat and explore solutions to international challenges. Students at Model UN discuss and debate global issues, pass resolutions, form alliances, and draft legal opinions while practicing cooperation and diplomacy.
Interested 7th & 8th graders are invited to an informational meeting on Tuesday, 10/8 after school in Mrs. Brown's room to find out more about this exciting opportunity.
The Mahtomedi Middle School (MMS) Parent Association is providing a meal to show appreciation for the staff at MMS before conferences on October 10th and we would love your help!

Support the Mahtomedi Area Food Shelf by donating non-perishable food items between today and October 17. The drop-off bin is in the MMS front office.
With its backpack program, the Mahtomedi Area Food Shelf supports 98 students. This time of year, the food shelf is low on donations and needs our help. This food drive is a service project sponsored by the Zephyr Cooking Club, who will walk donations to the food shelf on the October 18 no school day. Afterward, students will discuss service learning in the community, socialize, and enjoy Domino’s pizza for Click here to register for the service learning project.
Last Thursday, Mrs. Korich Burshten's 5th hour class had a magical guest! Parker William is a magician, mentalist, and comedian who came to MMS to present his show and help our students learn and experience how to captivate an audience. The class is studying public speaking and was excited to have the opportunity to learn some tips & tricks from the perspective of a professional performer.
There are always reasons to celebrate! If you know of a staff member who has gone above and beyond, or have heard of a particularly excellent experience that your student had at school, we would love to hear about it! Click here to submit a celebration form and we'll make sure to take note and celebrate along with you!
Check out these upcoming opportunities to get involved in our school community.
