In an effort to provide consistent attendance practices within the district. Mahtomedi High School will begin sending out automated tardy notifications to the parent/guardian of any student that is late for one or more class periods during the academic day. Notifications will be sent out via text messages beginning next Monday, November 11th, .
Texts will not include specific information about the tardy. Families that receive a text should log into ParentVue and select Attendance to see which class period reported the late arrival.
We appreciate our MHS families making consistent, on-time attendance a priority. Questions about our new notification practices can be emailed to MHS Associate Principal, Lisa Faletti-Watkins

Good Luck Zephyrs!
The Mahtomedi Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) Club students are using their business skills to support the annual district-wide Zephyr Service Project. This year, the group is helping in several ways. One way is meeting a critical need identified by our families who apply for gift assistance for hats, gloves, and socks.
DECA students connected with several local businesses to host collection boxes in their businesses this month. These items will be combined with the donations our schools collect for the Zephryr Service Project gift assistance program. Community members can drop off new hats, gloves, and socks at these businesses: 350 Degrees Bakery, The Wild Bean Mahtomedi, Ty Haschig - State Farm Agent, and Curio Dance.
Congratulations to Mahtomedi High School Class of 2025 students, Laken Decker and Addison Briske, who were recently named 916 Students of the Month! Each month, 916 celebrates and honors one student from each of their 20 programs as a Student of the Month. A Student of the Month is characterized by the professional skills of Leadership, Problem Solving, Teamwork, Engagement, and Communication.
Laken Decker, Construction Occupations-Student Built Home
“Laken has been an outstanding student during this year. He comes prepared for class every day with a great attitude. His willingness to learn and help others creates a positive environment in our class. I also want to commend Laken on his professionalism, safety, and participation. Keep up the good work!!”
Addison Briske, Dental Careers
“Addison is kind and approachable to all her classmates. Her presence in class is enjoyable, and she brings a great energy that everyone needs in a first time block.”
Students enrolled in Northeast Metro 916 Career and Technical Center courses attend at 916 for 105 minutes and spend the remainder of their day at Mahtomedi High School taking their required core classes. The coursework allows students to explore passions and careers while gaining professional skills, certifications, and in some cases, college credit.
