Congratulations to our Mahtomedi Area Preschool (MAP) graduates! Students in our MAP program recently celebrated their preschool graduation, which involved singing, diplomas, and popsicles to mark this important milestone with families and classmates.

Did you know that the Mahtomedi Area Preschool program is a proud 4-Star Parent Aware-rated preschool? According to the Minnesota Department of Human Services and the Office of Early Learning, MAP meets the highest level of criteria when preparing children for kindergarten. Key to our program’s success is our staff. Thank you to our dedicated, licensed teachers and associates who pour their expertise into MAP’s preschoolers, Ms. Anna, Ms. Jean, Ms. Melinda, Ms.Rona, Ms. Kalpana, Ms. Kelly, and Ms. Andi!
A Successful First Concert at the DEC!
Thank you to all who joined us at our first free Concert at the DEC! Those at the event danced along to music by kid-friendly rock-n-roll band The Bazillions and enjoyed ice cream treats from The Cherry on Top ice cream truck. Fun was had and memories were made by everyone in attendance!

The Mahtomedi Community Education Advisory Committee (CEAC) recommended that Mahtomedi Community Education conduct a needs assessment to identify how to better support community needs in alignment with the district’s strategic plan.
The survey was conducted in the spring of 2024. We are proud to share that 92% of survey respondents rated the quality of programs and services provided by Mahtomedi Community Education as Excellent or Good.
Community Education will be reviewing the feedback and using it to inform future planning.

Under the direction of the Early Childhood Coordinator, plan and implement lesson plans based on Early Childhood Indicators of Progress, integrating parent education and best practices in early childhood. Applicants must have strong classroom management skills, and the ability to work effectively with children and parents. Click here to apply.

Thank you to our 2023-24 Community Education Advisory Council Members: Paul Donna, Alice Seuffert, Lisa Smith, Tony Vosooney, Phil Morris, Laura Frese, Mark Jackson, and Luke Schlegel.
The Community Education Advisory Council (CEAC) promotes citizen involvement and lifelong learning opportunities by serving as an information conduit to friends and neighbors. CEAC also helps identify potential community education offerings with a focus on all district residents, from birth to seniors.
The CEAC meets four times throughout the school year to examine community education programming, learn about district information, and review upcoming events.
This adult fitness and recreation class helps de-stress and restore balance through dynamic, low-impact movements. Pilates improves balance & posture, increases flexibility, and strengthens & tones muscles. Click here to see more of what our Mat Pilates classes look like!
We have enjoyed Wednesday and Thursday mornings playing with friends at our Park Playdates! Join us at local parks this summer for playground play, songs, stories, and small crafts with friends. Check out these photos from one of our June playdates at the DEC.
Students in our June culinary arts classes have enjoyed making some awesome recipes! Highlights included monkey bread, crepes, fettuccine "caciofredo," fresh-baked cookies, and more. Watch this short video to see some of our teen chefs in action!
