Teachers in the Mahtomedi Community Education Mahtomedi Area Preschool program recently attended Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) professional development training. Teachers will use this professional development to enhance their understanding of how a brain learns to read and the instructional practices that support all children to become proficient readers. Last year, Mahtomedi Middle School (MMS) families shared on the annual family survey that they would like more information about our activities and reminders about upcoming registration. Administrative Assistant: The Community Education Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in the support of the daily operations of the Community Education Department and district front office, and ensures the smooth functioning of administrative processes at the district level. The position supports the Director in a variety of administrative tasks to ensure both staff and community members have the resources and support needed. Click here to learn more and apply.
Mahtomedi Adventure Club (MAC): We are looking for MAC employees from 7:30-9 am. MAC serves students in Kindergarten to grade 5 during the school year. We are hiring positions at Wildwood and O.H. Cross Country Student Helper/Manager: We Are Hiring! Join the Mahtomedi Middle School Cross Country Team as a Helper/Manager! This role is a great fit for a Mahtomedi High School Student who can help and manage the Middle School Cross Country team Monday-Thursdays from 2:50-4:00 p.m. after school. Check out what students in our Battle Drones STEM Camp were up to recently! This three-day camp featured an engineering design challenge along with learning to skillfully fly a drone. The camp culminated in a fun day of testing and flying their drones.
If your child in Grades 4-8 loves robotics and Legos, check out our Robotics Lego League this fall. The Program runs from September through December.
See What Kids are Up to in Our “Lil Ninjas” Class in this fun video! “Lil Ninjas” is a class designed to help children ages 2-5 gain strength and power through fun activities and exercises. Students practice balancing, hanging, jumping, and rolling with coach Dustin Schulte.

Our Adult Day Trips are great opportunities to get out and explore without the stress of planning on your own.
On October 9, we are going on a Cranberry Tour! Join us for a journey to Warrens, Wisconsin, where you’ll indulge in a delightful lunch at Discovery Cranberries & Cranberry Country Cafe. Then, dive into the rich history of cranberry cultivation with a guided tour of the Discover Cranberries museum. Afterward, we’ll visit Wetherby Cranberry Marsh for the Berry Best Tour, where you can purchase fresh cranberries at the packing facility. Our day concludes with a stop at Menomonie Creamery for cheese and snacks (on your own). Click here to get registered!
