James Fisette with School Board

James Fisette Honored with 2025 Recognition Award for Outstanding Leadership

Congratulations to James Fisette, Night Lead Custodian at Mahtomedi Middle School, who was recently recognized by the Mahtomedi School Board for outstanding leadership at Mahtomedi Public Schools. The Mahtomedi School Board awards recognize the leadership and contributions staff members across our district are making to advance our strategic plan.

Todd Burrell

Private Piano Teacher Spotlight

He played with Prince. Now he’s teaching the next generation of musicians.
Meet Todd Burrell, our private piano instructor through Mahtomedi Community Education.

Learning an instrument like the piano is a powerful way for students to explore their passions and find their personal success, and we are proud to have talented community members like Mr. Burrell share their expertise with our school community.

Growing Learners by Growing Spaces

At Mahtomedi Area Preschool, caring for our environment is part of how we care for children.

This summer, the Wildwood playhouse got a fresh update and nature sensory tubs were added and are cared for daily. As a result, outdoor play now supports even more learning styles!

Click here to get a behind-the-scenes look at these spaces and how they support meaningful play.

Middle school students at MMS Youth Night

Middle School Youth Night

Over 200 students joined us for the Mahtomedi Middle School Youth Night in November! Throughout the event, students explored different engaging stations, including a carnival with games and prizes, inflatables, volleyball, basketball, and crafts.

Mahtomedi Community Education started this event two years ago to foster connection and joy for Mahtomedi Middle School students and reflects our commitment to student well-being and belonging.
