Community member Sarah Newman creates an impact on the mental and physical health of women. This fall, she created a free women's walking club that meets Thursday mornings at the DEC. Club goals include improving health with long walks, meeting new people, and enjoying nature during all seasons. The club goes on - and has impacted over 20 community members.
The club is free and resumes in early January. If you haven't joined yet, you can register at Mahtomedi Eleyo: mahtomedi.ce.eleyo.com.
Way to go to our 26 Mahtomedi Middle School Knowledge Bowl participants in their latest competition!
“I love how Knowledge Bowl creates a niche for students who thrive in academic challenges,” said Kathryn Marget, Advanced Academics Program Coordinator for Mahtomedi Public Schools. “All of the teams fought hard while having fun with their teammates.”
Knowledge Bowl is a highly competitive Jeopardy-like game in which teams of students answer difficult questions from all academic subject areas. Knowledge Bowl is an opportunity through our Advanced Academics Program (Gifted and Talented) and supported by Mahtomedi Community Education. Mahtomedi Community Education coordinated and hosted the most recent competition, which was held at MMS.
Mahtomedi Community Education is always working to create a culture of bringing our community together to engage and partner in the Zephyr community.
School district residents who are 60 years or older can ask for a Golden Zephyr Pass. These passes can be used for FREE admission to a regular season activity or athletic event. If you're interested in a Golden Zephyr Pass, please bring a photo ID or utility bill with your name and address to the DEC or the MHS Athletic Office.
Also at the DEC, cards are for sale for .25 cents each. Adults collected and created these cards for different special events such as birthdays, winter holidays, and graduation. All sales go toward Mahtomedi Community Education Senior/Adult Programming.
